The Beat Goes On

Women's Wear Daily showed a preview of Alexander McQueen Cruise Collection 2011. This is the first official women's collection done by Lee's predecessor Sarah Burton. You can still feel McQueen's rebellion in these pieces, and Sarah is sticking close to what made the designer a heavy-hitter in the biz. The red gown pattern is gorgeous, the use of lace, and the strong shoulders and shapes in other pieces are classic McQueen. We're sorry we had to say goodbye to Lee so soon, but his house is under great care.

Clog It To Me

I don't care what anyone says. I love Miley Cyrus. I was indifferent and bordering on hate when clogs came strutting down on Chanel's runway a few seasons ago. Now, I'm sort of loving the ones on Miley. She can pull a trendy outfit together well and still make it feel like it's still comfortable and totally her.

Barbie World

Literally every piece in Christian Dior's Resort 2011 is magnificent. The colors alone make it dreamy and delightful. With a throwback to the 50's/60's, it celebrates the woman and her body. The way the ruffles flow and sweep down the side of the gowns is gorgeous. Also, the shorter dresses, trench coats, leather jackets, and pantsuits covers a need in every wardrobe.

Lots of pastel shades of blues, pinks, and lavenders. Big ball gowns in brights shades to ones in metal gray, black, and white. Parisian chic 20's influence flows into 60's/70's hippie chic and pantsuits. Big bows, patterns, stripes, florals, and layering. Short dresses to floor length. Resort collections were about designers mixing simple spring looks with a fall infusion.
